Adwa Victory Day

“The Battle of Adwa, a significant military clash on March 1, 1896, was a momentous event in Ethiopian history. Under Emperor Menelik II’s leadership, the Ethiopian army emerged victorious against the Italian forces, securing the country’s independence and sovereignty. This triumph bolstered national pride and unity and was a powerful symbol of resistance against colonialism. The battle inspired other African nations to fight for independence and was a preeminent symbol of Pan-Africanism. Its impact was not limited to Africa, as it also profoundly influenced African Americans, serving as a source of pride
and inspiration in their struggle for civil rights and equality.”

Ethio-American Generational Bridge (EAGB) was established to Celebrate Adwa Victory, focusing to connect the community together for unity, increasing visibility, and emphasizing education and achievements also our mission is to be a resource that empowers, engages, and transforms the community, ensuring the transfer of knowledge and values to new generations for a more advanced and united community.
